Guiding principle

Knowledge is limited.Only those who share itcan expand it.

Working in IT, I am drawn to every system that runs on clear rules.

That explains my private interests: astrophysics, quantum computing and artificial intelligence, and the relentless urge to understand all of it. Along that road I have run into limits again and again, and learned that exchange is what carries me furthest.

What gets me thinking

Where does it all come from, and why at all? Can that be computed, or do we need nature's own shortcuts to create something that thinks and can find the answers?

These hold the big questions of humanity, philosophical in part, but scientific above all. I have put my thoughts on them into articles: the Big Bang, dark matter, qubits, superintelligence and time travel are only some of the topics I cover there. Always weighed against what we currently know, and clearly separated from what is only my own guess.

Professional skills

  • Software Architecture

Domain-Driven Design, microservice architectures, distributed transactions, event-driven systems. Not just theory, but implemented in real projects, taught to teams, and running in production.

  • Fullstack Development

My core area: Java and Spring Boot on the backend, Angular and React on the frontend. From database to UI: everything from one source.

  • DevOps & Infrastructure

Own Linux servers, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD. I don't just build software, I run it too.

  • AI-augmented Software Engineering

AI is not a hype for me, but a professional tool for complex, production-grade systems. Foundation: years of theoretical AI study and multiple self-built neural networks. In my daily workflow, I use Claude Code as a permanent development partner: from architecture decisions and code reviews to implementing entire features.

Away from the screen

I live with my wife and our dog in Großburgwedel near Hannover. I have been playing badminton for over 32 years, and there is hiking, paddleboarding and the garden. None of it happens sitting down.

Badminton · Hiking · Paddleboarding · Garden · Juggling · Slacklining

Decades of the same game, and I'm still learning. Not much software ages that well.

Questions about an article? A different take on the architecture?

I enjoy talking shop, whether that's domain-driven design, dark matter, or whether a quantum computer really computes.
